Tools like CCleaner do plenty of dangerous things in addition to defragmenting your disk, so even without an SSD, avoid them. This can be done with tools built into Windows. Now, if you do not have a solid state drive, it is possible defragmenting is useful. If your PC is old enough for even the most "bloated" registry in the world to take more than milliseconds to load, you would be running an ancient operating system and browser that can fit on such a PC, and would not work properly for you, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. Even if your Windows machine with less than 2% as much RAM as a modern PC might have been excessively burdened by a large registry and worth the high risk of corruption from using a "cleaner" on, the simple fact is that your current PC is not. The things they "clean" (especially the registry) are of such small size that they are not a performance burden on any PC made in the last ten to fifteen years. These "cleaner" programs (CCleaner and ALL other "speed up your PC" programs that exist) are unnecessary and do not help your PC.
